Work Experience
Driving Results Through SEO & Web Design at RedBrick
Partnered with clients across Home Services, SaaS, and Finance to launch conversion-focused websites
Overview
My Start in SEO & Strategy
📌 Role: SEO Specialist 📅 Timeline: July 2024 – Present
I began my career at RedBrick Web Solutions as a Junior SEO Specialist, diving into an agency environment where I quickly gained hands-on experience in SEO, content writting, and digital strategy. Within seven months, I was promoted to SEO Specialist for driving measurable results and leading key initiatives across client accounts.
As an SEO strategist, I focus on driving traffic, generating qualified leads, and enhancing overall site performance. I blend data-driven insights with user-centered design and scalable systems to deliver sustainable digital growth for small businesses to national level brands.
The Challenge
Adapting Quickly in a New Role
When I joined RedBrick, SEO was something I knew nothing about. My background was in web design and UX, where I focused on layout, structure, and building case studies. That foundation helped, but stepping into SEO meant learning an entirely new discipline from scratch. I had to get up to speed quickly, dive into unfamiliar tools, and start thinking in terms of traffic, rankings, and search intent. Learning something completely new pushed me out of my comfort zone and sparked a period of rapid growth.

My Role & Impact
Hands-On Experience Across Digital Functions
Content Writing & Strategy
I wrote 50+ SEO-optimized blogs targeting key home service industries, created a content matrix strategy, and restructured content to target featured snippets and Google's AI Overviews. This not only drove traffic but improved site-wide keyword visibility.
Keyword Research & Local SEO
I conducted keyword research across various industries to identify high-impact opportunities. Using targeted local SEO strategies, I optimized 200+ landing pages to boost search visibility and drive qualified traffic in competitive markets like Atlanta, Houston, and Los Angeles.
UX & Visual Design
As the design lead, I delivered over 20 custom mockups for existing and prospective clients that aligned with brand goals, user intent, and SEO best practices. I also created logos and graphic assets to enhance storytelling and refine brand visuals.
Project Management & Client Collaboration
I managed a full website build from concept to launch, coordinated timelines, and led weekly client check-ins. I also helped streamline internal processes for smoother onboarding and reporting, improving both team efficiency and client satisfaction.
Reporting & Case Studies
To showcase ROI, I created client reports and developed case studies highlighting tangible outcomes, such as lead growth, increased traffic, and improved user behavior metrics. These helped strengthen client trust and support our sales pipeline.
Key Takeaways
What I’ve Learned Along the Way
Learning by doing: Working at a startup has been an incredible way to pick up a variety of new skills. I believe the best way to learn is by jumping in and doing the work.
Bridging UX and SEO: At first, I thought UX and SEO were completely opposite and could not be combined. Sometimes I had to apply SEO tactics that didn’t feel like good UX. But I discovered how to blend the two by focusing on how users think and behave to boost conversions.
Making SEO approachable: A huge part of SEO is presenting complex information in a way that clients can easily understand. Storytelling is a powerful technique I use across all aspects of my work to make data meaningful and engaging.
